The xTool D1 Laser Cutter & Engraver from Makeblock has been nothing short of AMAZING from my experience. We will quickly run through some features you'll want to be aware of, and some cool projects I have seen.

What makes the xTool D1 Laser so special?
In a nutshell, the xTool D1 is one of the best-built Diode lasers on the market. The Aluminum frame, metal parts, and even the laser module itself. I could say so many things, but I need to keep this short lol. There are many features to name, so you can find the full list here.
You may call me biased, But there is hardly any competition for the D1 in my opinion. I say this from many hours of research and hands-on experience with the xTool D1. ( I have a YouTube video at the bottom of this page you can watch where I cover how to use the D1)
My Favorite Attachments:
A 4-in-1 rotary attachment to accommodate a wide variety of irregular cylinders, tumblers, and mugs with handles.
This is a MUST HAVE in my opinion. I have engraved so many tumblers with the RA2 Pro Attachment and still have orders backing up!
The chuck rotary is also great for engraving cylinder-shaped wood.

This allows you to get clean & clear edges during engraving and cutting.
It blows away smoke & residue, improving cutting ability.
If you plan on using your laser much, this is also a must-have.

The Honeycomb Panel protects your desktop from laser damage.
This accessory is great when you are using the cut setting (cuts through the material instead of engraving it).
5-watt, 10-watt, 20-watt Laser Module
There are 3 versions of the D1 laser module. The higher the wattage, the faster and more powerful the laser is.
I have exclusively been using the 10-watt with fantastic results, but can't wait to get my hands on a 20-watt.
Depending on the work you will be doing, the 20-watt will be a fantastic upgrade over the 10-watt.

Profit Margin
I have honestly never seen a machine that is so easy to make money with. The start-up fees are very low in comparison to what you can make with this machine. I've seen many people start with no experience whatsoever and start making money on the side. Some people paid off their laser in the first WEEK of having it! I love hearing stories like this!
Many people sell their projects in online stores like Etsy & Facebook Market Place. Setting up at local events is also a great revenue stream potential.

The xTool D1 allows me to have so much creative freedom in all the realms of art while freeing up time for what I love doing... Woodcarving!
If you are a woodworker and take pride in your hand-crafted work, I ask that you look at how a laser can benefit your business. As technology evolves supply & demand also increases. There are ways you can keep your handcrafted side of the business while allowing the laser to compliment it.
I am doing this myself and it has taken a load off... and SAVED ME MONEY ON MATERIAL! Not to mention the extra money coming in on the side. My advice for an artist of ANY kind is not to limit yourself.
